 
Sensei Tom Leigh began training in 1964. After traveling around the United States working on pipelines, he settled down in Osage Beach, Missouri. He soon signed up for martial arts at a school that had recently opened. He is a certified instructor in the styles of Tae Kwan Do in The World Tae Kwan Do Federation. Since 1964 he has trained in Tae Kwan Do and Hapkido. In 1995, he received professional training from Mr. Eutimio Delgado. He has 11 years teaching experience as well as taught child awareness and women's self defense classes in the disciplines of Tae Kwan Do and Hapkido. From 1997-2000 he was an instructor at the Osage Beach Black Belt Academy. Since 2000, he has been chief instructor and owner at Camdenton Black Belt Academy.
In July of 2003 Master Leigh was inducted into the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame in Houston, Texas as the Instructor of the Year. In 2004, he was inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame as the Mixed Martial Artist Instructor of the Year .
Tom and Ethan Leigh are both members of the AAU, United States Midwest Martial Arts Association and members of the Musahdo Hall of Fame.
